EV Charging and LED Lighting Funding Opportunities for Local and County Governments
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA)’s State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) has released two funding opportunities for local and county governments. Details are as follows:
Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installation
Provides reimbursable grants to assist local and county governments by financing installations of level 2 electric vehicles charging stations behind local and county government owned meters.
Charging stations must be purchased and owned by the city and county, they cannot be leased.
The grant is open to all of Texas, but smaller local and county governments are encouraged to apply.
Reimbursable grant amount is up to $9,000 per successful application
Applicants will provide 20% of the awarded application amount
Applications are due August 6, 2021!

Local and County Government Lighting Conversion to LED Light Retrofits
Provides reimbursable grants to assist cities and counties replace lighting equipment in government facilities with LED lights.
The RFA targets cities with a population under 75,000 and counties with a population under 125,000
Reimbursable grant amount is up to $75,000 per application
Applications are due August 6, 2021!
