We’ve often heard the phrase, “Time is money” used in the business world with consideration of how to best optimize processes. But just how interconnected is truck parking itself with time and other relevant factors of goods movement? And how does goods movement affect disadvantaged communities?
To piece together these factors, we invite trucking fleets and other stakeholders to join us for our next SMARTE Webinar Series session titled Truck Parking.
Chris Oliver, Chief Marketing Officer of Trucker Path, has observed a double-pronged dilemma which has thrown the brakes on efficiency of the moving parts essential to success in the transport industry: a shortage of truck drivers and a shortage of parking. To curb these issues as much as possible, Trucker Path offers an app that among its functions provides drivers with a list of truck parking locations matching the programmed routes. Chris will point attendees to the intersection of the existing challenge and the role that technology is playing to curb this challenge.
Kevin Hernandez, Transportation Planner with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, will present on an approach to evaluate the impact of freight land uses –- such as distribution centers, warehouses and manufacturing facilities – on environmental justice communities. Kevin will also share measures available for implementation by private and public sector entities to resolve land use conflicts.
